Becker knife blades are made only with best quality stainless steels. All knives are hollow ground. That is, similar to a straight razor.
The profile of the blade from back to the edge is not convex but concave. This geometry allows easy cutting and sharpening without problems throughout the life of the blade.
Since my blades are done by stock removal, I can work even the toughest steels.
The steels I use require very complex heat treatment and the use of complicated equipment.
Since it is important to me to get the optimal hardness out of my blades, I use a professional industrial heat treatment company to do the heat treatment of my blades. By special agreement, the company's hardening vacuum equipment runs the charge only with my blades, without any other foreign objects.
All blades have tapered tangs, including the full integrals. This way, the width of the blade at the end of the grip is one millimeter. This makes the knife lighter, gives better balance and ……looks good!
For hunting knives I prefer to use natural materials such as Stag, bone, fossile materials or exotic woods on the handles. On folders I often use Mother of Pearl or Amber.
I keep informed on the international environmental guidelines and will not use any forbidden material on my knives. I personally hand finish each fitted leather sheath myself, using top grain saddle leather. I only use the best quality oiled and waxed Croupons. |
