I enjoy the life in nature. Therefore I live in the countryside where I enjoy hunting, along with the multiple responsibilities associated with taking care of the hunting range, the game as well as working with the implements associated with the hunt. I cannot only enjoy the creature in the free range, but also at technical things as at fine weapons and old cars. My large love however belongs to the knives!

I began making custom knives in 1980, since I couldn't fine a really usable knife for my purposes. In the meantime there is a quantity of good knife makers in Europe and also the knife industry powerfully caught up. The market changed, however not the searching for quality! I try to make it better and I guess I’m right!

My intention is not to become rich with the knife sales, but to give the practical man a high-quality knife in working condition. The lover of beautiful things I want to give graceful designed, high-quality article which reveals new and positive elements every time he takes it into his hand.
That is the basis of my knife philosophy.

After having determined that there was a demand for quality knives in Germany, Although the marketplace was not available, I decided to make my own market. This is how the International Knife Show (Internationale Messerausstellung  - IMA) was held in Munich, Germany for 24 years.
That is the basis of my market philosophy!

I had to gain my knowledge of knife making partly laboriously, because on the part of the "learned" specialists in Germany I did not experience anything. Professional secrecy! They meant. Same thing happen to my very few knife making colleges at that time. Therefore my further step was, the cooperation at the establishment of a German Knife makers Guild as a communication platform among themselves and as a forum of the knife makers outwards. At the establishment of the German Knife makers Guild (Deutsche Messermacher Gilde) 1986 I was involved and led these some years as its chairman.
That is the basis of my communication philosophy!

In the meantime the idea and the proven concept of the IMA found imitators, and now there are numerous Knife shows in Europe.

Also competent folks have been found who maintain and advance the idea and ideals of the Guild, as well as keeping a sharp eye on the market.
Therefore I personally now dedicate my efforts to my 'first love', the design and fabrication of high quality handmade knives.
